Description
A shrub or tree. It grows 2-5 m high. It loses its leaves during the year. The stems are spiny. The fruit are long narrow pods. They split open. The pods are pointed at the base.
Distribution
It is a tropical plant. It grows on alluvial soils. It grows in shrubland and grassland. It grows between 140-1,100 m above sea level. It can grow in arid places.
