Summary

Perennial plant growing to 0.4m tall with hermaphrodite flowers. Tolerates light sandy, medium loamy, and heavy clay soils suitable for mildly acid, neutral, and mildly alkaline pH. Adapts to semi-shade or full sun and prefers moist soil conditions.

Description

A herb. It grows 50 cm tall. The leaves have leaflets along the stalk. The leaves are 18 cm long with 9-11 leaflets. The leaflets are 2-5 cm long by 2-4 mm wide. The fruit are oblong and 6-10 mm long.

Edible Uses

The seed can be used as a substitute for caraway (Carum carvi).

It is a temperate plant. It grows between 1,200-1,650 m above sea level.
