Description

A herb. It keeps growing from year to year. It is pale green. It grows 20-60 cm tall. The stems branch from the base and lie along the ground. They have spines. The leaves have 3 leaflets. The flowers are purple to pink. The fruit is a hairy capsule.

Edible Uses

The leaves are eaten.

Distribution

A Mediterranean climate plant. It grows in the Sahara. It grows in the desert.

Notes

There are 30 Fagonia species. Zygophyllaceae are usually in the tropics or subtropics in arid or saline environments.
