Description
A columnar cactus. It grows 3 m tall. The stems are 8 cm across. There are 10-13 ribs along the stem. The spines are straw coloured and 5 cm long. There are hairs along the stem. The flowers are red to pink and tube shaped. They are 8 cm long. The fruit are large and yellow.
Edible Uses
The large yellow fruit is edible.
Distribution
It is a tropical plant. It grows in the highlands of Bolivia.
