Description

A tree. It grows 8 m tall. The leaves have lobes and have golden brown hairs when young. The flowers are produced on the main trunk. The fruit is a green woody capsule 9 cm long by 5 cm wide. It is ribbed.

Edible Uses

The sweet fruit pulp is eaten and is popular locally.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant. It grows in secondary forest.
