Source: WikipediaCalophyllum walkeri is a species of flowering plant in the Calophyllaceae family. It is found only in Sri Lanka. It is reddish brown with dark streaks and is a strong, durable wood. It is used for beams, rafters, posts & door frames. It weighs about 46 lbs per cubic foot. It can be found in hill country in Sri Lanka. The leaves and bark have fragments. It is known as කින (Kina) in Sinhala.
Description
A tree. It grows 10 m tall. The trunk is yellowish and cracked. The leaves are broadly oval to round. Young leaves are bright red. The fruit are round and pale yellow with brown spots. They are smooth and fleshy.
Edible Uses
The round, pale yellow fruits with brown spots are eaten.
Distribution
It is a tropical plant. It grows in mountain forest.

Other Uses
An oil obtained from the seed is used for lighting. The red-brown wood is durable. It is used for beams, posts, door frames, rafters, ornamental panels and joinery.
