Description
A slender herb that grows each year from seed. It grows 20 cm tall. The upper stems are 4 angled. The leaves are 5-20 mm long by 5-10 mm wide. They are arranged in a cross shape. The flowers are pink or red.
Edible Uses
The leaves are eaten as a vegetable.
Distribution
It is a tropical plant. It grows in damp places near streams.
