Description

A tropical tree growing 18–36 m tall native to the medium altitude forests of Uganda (1,250–1,800 m elevation). It produces large fruits on long stalks.

Edible Uses

The fruit is rich in fat and used for oil production.

Known Hazards

Seeds are difficult to germinate.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant. In Uganda it grows in medium altitude forest. It grows between 1,250-1,800 m above sea level.
