Garcinia semseii is a species of flowering plant in the family Clusiaceae that grows primarily in the wet tropical biome.It is found only in Tanzania.

Description

A tree. It grows 20 m tall. The trunk is straight. They bark is grey to brown. The leaves are simple and opposite. The leaf stalk is 1-2 cm long. The leaf blade is 19-25 cm long by 7-17 cm wide. It is oval and wedge shaped at the base and tapers to the tip. The flowers are pale yellow. They are along the branches. The fruit is flattened and 5 cm long by 4 cm wide. It is lumpy.

Edible Uses

The fruit are eaten.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant. It grows in lowland and mountain forests.
