Description

A tree. It grows 30 m high. The trunk is 60 cm across. The leaves are simple. The leaves have 3 or 5 parallel veins along the leaf. The side veins are at an acute angle and not parallel. The fruit are 2 cm across and orange when ripe.

Edible Uses

The fruit is eaten.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant.

Africa, Angola, Central Africa, Congo, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, West Africa,

Notes

Previously it was put in the Rhizophoraceae.
