Source: WikipediaMyrciaria vismeifolia is a species of plant in the family Myrtaceae. It has been found in Bolivia, Brazil, French Guiana, Guyana, Panama, Suriname, and Venezuela. The tree grows to between 4 and 6 metres high, and produces an edible berry up to 10mm in diameter.
Description
A shrub or small tree. It grows 4-6 m tall. The trunk can be 10 cm across. Leaves are towards the ends of twigs. The leaves are narrowly oval to sword shaped and 6-12 cm long by 2-4 cm wide. They are rounded at the base and taper to the tip. The flowers are in groups in the axils of leaves and along branches. The fruit is a round berry. It is 1 cm across. There are 1-3 seeds.
Edible Uses
The fruit is eaten.
Distribution
It is a tropical plant.
