Description

A tree. It grows 15 m tall. The young branches are brown and with a coating. The leaves are compound with 7-11 pairs of leaflets. The leaflets are narrowly oval. The flowers are in groups 20 cm long in the axils of leaves. They are pale violet to red. The fruit are pods with 2-3 seeds.

It is a tropical plant. It grows in open areas in humid conditions in rich calcium soils.
