Description

A shrub. The leaves have 8-14 pairs of leaflets. They are 3-4 cm long. They are more pale underneath. Flowers are in large groups. The petals are orange and unequal. The fruit are slender pods with several seeds.

Edible Uses

The seeds are edible.

A tropical plant.

Notes

There are 100 Cassia species. This group has been revised to a smaller more consistent group. Also as Caesalpinaceae.
