Tupeia antarctica is a shrub with monoecious flowers (male and female flowers on the same plant). It tolerates light sandy, medium loamy, or heavy clay soils with mildly acidic to basic pH levels. The plant grows in semi-shade to full sun and prefers moist conditions.
