Description

A plant that grows in water and keeps growing from year to year. The leaves and stems are 30 cm long. The leaf blade is 1-4 cm wide. The flower spike emerges above the water. There are many flowers and they are yellow. They have a scent. The fruit are 3-7 mm long and 2-5 mm wide. The plant forms tubers.

Edible Uses

Both the tubers and roots are edible.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant. It grows in fresh water.

Plants can grow from seed. Seed start to grow as soon as they are shed.
