Source: WikipediaAllophylus zeylanicus (Sinhala: වල් කොබ්බෑ - wal kobbe) is a species of plant in the family Sapindaceae. It is endemic to Sri Lanka.
Description
A shrub or small tree. The bark is pale of white. Young shoots have white hairs. The leaves are oval and have points at the tip. The fruit are red.
Edible Uses
The fruit are eaten.
Distribution
It is a tropical plant. It grows in lowland areas, wetlands and evergreen forests. It can grow up to 2,000 m above sea level.

Notes
There are 190-200 Allophyllus species. Some say there is just one widely variable species. It is an at risk species.
