Description
A tall tree. It grows 30-40 m tall. The trunk is 80 cm across. The leaves are loosely clustered at the ends of the twigs. They are broadly oval. They are velvety underneath. The flowers are in groups of 4-10. The fruit are oval and 5-8 cm long. They are hairy.
Edible Uses
The fruit and seeds are edible, and oil can be extracted from the seeds.
Distribution
A tropical plant. It grows in swampy soil at low altitudes.

Other Uses
An oil, known as 'vegetable tallow Siak', is obtained from the seed. The whitish-brown wood is used for making boards and boats.
