Description
A shrub. It grows 2-4 m tall. The young branches are a grey-white colour. The leaves are oval to sword shaped and 7-14 cm long by 3-5 cm wide. They are wedge shaped or round at the base. The flowering shoots are at the ends of branches. Male and female flowers are separate. The fruit is a capsule 8-10 mm across.
Edible Uses
The leaves are edible.
Distribution
A tropical plant. In China it grows in dense forest between 200-400 m above sea level. In Yunnan.
