Description
A herb or soft stemmed shrub. It grows 1.5 m tall. The branches are 4 sided. Young plants are hairy. The flowers are white with red bracts around them.
Edible Uses
The fruit is eaten.
Distribution
A tropical plant. It grows along the edges of rivers.

Production
In Central African Republic flowers have been observed in April and fruit in September.
