Description
A tufted annual sedge. It is a spreading plant. It grows 15-40 cm high. The flower spikes occur singly and are compressed. The style has 3 angles and 3 branches. The nut is 3 angled. The flowers are pale brown and green.
Edible Uses
The seeds are eaten.
Distribution
It is a tropical plant. It grows on red sands, sandy loams and near swamps. It can grow in arid places.
