Description

A ginger family herb. The leaves are 30-70 cm long by 7-10 cm wide. They have soft hairs on the upper surface. The fruit capsule is oblong and 4 cm long by 1.2 cm wide. There are several seeds 2.5 mm long by 1.5 mm wide.

Edible Uses

The fruit is eaten.

Distribution

It is a subtropical plant.
