Zanthoxylum motuoense (Chinese: 墨脱花椒) is a woody plant from the Rutaceae family and is native to Medog, Tibet.

Description

A tree. It grows 15 m tall. It loses its leaves during the year. The small branches have prickles near the leaf scars. The leaves have 3-5 leaflets. These are 3-6 cm long by 2-4 cm wide with the end one being larger. They are hairy on both surfaces. The fruit is 4.5 mm across. It has follicles. The seeds are 4 mm across.

Edible Uses

The fruit is used as a spice.

Distribution

It is a subtropical plant.
