Description

A tree. It grows 10-25 m tall. It loses its leaves during the year. The leaves are oblong to sword shaped and 15-55 cm long by 2.5-14 cm wide. Male and female flowers are separate. There are 2-10 male flowers in a group and 1-8 female flowers.

Edible Uses

The seeds are processed for oil.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant. It grows in swamp forests between 100-1,800 m above sea level.
