Description

A plant with an underground stem or rhizome. It has leafy stems 3-4 m tall. These are reddish near the ground. There are 20-26 leaves. They are darker green above. The flowers are pale yellow and red in the centre. They are on a separate shoot close to the ground.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant. It grows in wet wet tropics in forests. It grows up to 1,300 m above sea level.
