Description

Cultivation
Grows best in a sunny position. Prefers a fertile, well-drained soil. Established plants are drought tolerant.
Propagation
Seed - best sown as soon as it is ripe in a sunny position in individual containers. A low germination rate can usually be expected, with the seed sprouting within 28 - 42 days. The seedlings should be ready to plant out 7 - 8 months later.
Other Uses
The wood is thick-textured, straight-grained, heavy, soft, with moderate mechanical properties and low durability. It can be used for internal purposes in general construction, for plywood and boxes. The wood is used for fuel and to make charcoal.
