Description
A tree. It grows 10 m tall. The leaves are oval and taper at both ends. They have a small tip at the end. The fruit are at the ends of the branches. They are oval and 8-12 cm long.
Edible Uses
Fruit - raw. The ovoid to cylindrical fruit is around 60 - 80cmm long and 35 - 50mm wide, composed of around 300 carpels each containing a single seed around 8 - 10mm long and 4 - 5mm wide.
Distribution
It is a tropical plant. In Ecuador it has been recorded at 450 m above sea level.
