Description
A medium sized tree. It grows 15-20 m high. The trunk is 30-50 cm across. The leaves are broadly oval and 7-21 cm long by 4-7 cm wide. The fruit is a capsule with 3 lobes. They are 12-15 mm across. The seeds are 6-7 mm across.

Distribution
A tropical plant. It grows in tropical evergreen broad-leaved forest. It is often on limestone hills below 400-500 m altitude. It can tolerate shade when young. In Yunnan.

Production
In China plants flower and fruit March to October.
Notes
There are about 25-35 Cleidion species.
