Description
A small tree. It grows 2-7 m tall. The leaves are oval or oblong and 4-9 cm long by 2-4 cm wide. They are whitish underneath. The fruit are fleshy and purplish black. They are oval and 8 mm across.
Edible Uses
The fruit is edible.
Distribution
It is a temperate plant. In China it grows on slopes in sparse forests between 1,000-1,800 m above sea level.

In China plants flower in April and fruit in June.
