Description

An evergreen tree. It grows 6-20 m tall. The fruit is a capsule with 3 seeds. They are about 12 mm long and 7 mm wide. There is a thin layer or edible flesh around the seeds.

Edible Uses

The thin layer of edible flesh (aril) around the seeds is eaten.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant. It grows in mountain forests. It is usually on limestone soil. It grows between 350-705 m above sea level.
