Description

A grass. It keeps growing from year to year. It has short rhizomes. The culms are in dense tufts. It can grow 1.5 m tall. The leaves are flat and 20-50 cm long by 1-5 mm wide.

Edible Uses

The leaves are used as a flavouring.

Distribution

It is a subtropical plant. It grows on mountain slopes and in dry valleys. In Sichuan and Yunnan.
