Description
A large tree. It grows 16-30 m tall. The leaves are opposite. The flowers are in the axils of the leaves. The fruit is fleshy and has a smooth skinned nut. The kernel is eaten.
Edible Uses
The kernel of the fleshy fruit is eaten and is considered a popular nut.
Distribution
It is a tropical plant. It has been recorded on San Cristobal and Treasury Islands in the Solomon Islands.
