Description

A small tree. It grows 20 m tall. The leaves are narrowly oval. The flowers are in groups. It has many flowers. They are tube shaped and white. The fruit is a capsule that is slightly rounded.

The young flowering shoots are cooked and cut into pieces to make chutney with dried fish; they are rich in sugar. The flowers are eaten and sold in local markets.
