Description

A sprawling vine. The fruit are bright red. The layer around the seeds is bright white. This is revealed as the fruit splits open. The seed is black. The layer around the seed is edible.

Edible Uses

The white layer surrounding the seeds is edible.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant. It grows along riverbanks and in wetlands.
