Description

A slender shrub. The twigs are soft and hollow. It grows 3 m tall. The leaves are narrowly oval. They are 20 cm long. The flowers are small and green to pink. They are in clusters. The fruit are purplish-black and on swollen stalks.

Edible Uses

The leaves are eaten, though only occasionally.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant. It grows in forests along rivers.
