Description

A large tree. It grows 20 m tall. The flowers are yellow. The fruit are large. They can weigh 3 kg.

Edible Uses

Fruit - raw. The large fruits can weigh up to 30 kilos. The fruit is composed of 3 - 9, oblongiform to ovoid monocarps, each 100 - 130mm long and 52 - 66mm wide.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant. It grows from sea level to 1,500 m above sea level.

The fruit takes around 1 year to develop from flowering to maturity.
