Syzygium stocksii is a species of plant in the family Myrtaceae. It is endemic to India.

Description

A small tree. It grows 15 m tall. The bark is greyish-brown. The small branches are 4 sided. The leaves are simple and opposite. The leaf blade is 9-17 cm long by 4-8 cm wide. They narrow to the base and are rounded at the tip. The flowers are in the axils of the leaves. The fruit is a pink berry 6 cm long by 1 cm wide.

Edible Uses

The fruit is edible.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant. It grows in forest at about 800 m in Kerala.

Asia, India,

Production

In Kerala it flowers and fruits in March to June.

It is an at risk species.
