Description

A ginger family herb. The leaves are 30-45 cm long b 5-10 cm wide. They are broadly sword shaped. They are hairy underneath. The flowers are in simple groups. There is a pale brown to purple bract over each flower. The flowers are red and yellow at the centre. The fruit are round capsules with many seeds.

Medicinal Uses

Used medicinally in traditional practice.

It is a tropical plant.
