Description

A scrambling herb. The stem can be straight or branching. It grows 3-4 m high. The nodes are swollen. The flowers are in a branched group. They are white. The fruit is white or red.

Edible Uses

The fruit and aril are edible.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant. It grows as an under-shrub of the non-swampy forest in West Africa.
