Description

A slender herb. It has 1-3 annual stems. It grows 35 cm tall. These grow from a fleshy rootstock. The stems have milky sap. The leaves are opposite and do not have stalks. They are narrow and 10 cm long. They have short stiff hairs on both surfaces. The edges are rolled under. The flowers are in groups of 3-6 near the ends of stems.

Edible Uses

The leaves are eaten.

Distribution

It is a subtropical plant.
