A herb with stems that are spreading. They spread up to 40 cm long. The leaves are narrow and 1-10 cm long.

A tropical plant. It grows between 10 and 1,900 m above sea level.

Central America, Guatemala, Mexico, North America, USA,

Notes

There are between 50-100 Calandrinia species. It has also been put in the family Portulacaceae.
