Description

A herb. It has a bulb 2 cm across. The leaves are narrow and occur singly. They develop after the flowers. The flower stalk is 30 cm long. There are bracts 3-4 cm long. There are up to 8 flowers. They are narrow yellow tubes. These are 5 cm long and 5 mm wide at the mouth.

Edible Uses

The bulb and flowers are edible.

Distribution

It is a subtropical plant.
