Phyllostachys platyglossa is a species of bamboo found in Jiangsu, Zhejiang provinces of China

Description

A bamboo. It grows 10 m tall. The culms are dark green. They are 5 cm across. The internodes are 35 cm long. The last branch has 2 leaves. The leaf blades are 7-14 cm long by 1-2 cm wide.

Edible Uses

The shoots are edible and enjoyed.

Distribution

It is a temperate plant. It can tolerate temperatures down to -18°C.
