Description

A bamboo. It grows 3-5 m tall and the culms are about 2 cm across. The internodes are 20-23 cm long. There are 7-15 branches at each node. There are 3-6 leaves on the end branch. The leaf blade is 4-10 cm long by 5 mm wide.

Edible Uses

The shoots are eaten.

Distribution

It is a temperate plant. It grows in Sichuan in China between 2,700-2,800 m altitude.
