Description
A tree. It grows 9-15 m tall. The leaves are very large. They are 55 cm long. They sheath the leaf stem and this sheath is deeply incised. The flower panicles are at the ends of branches. They are oval and 0.8 cm long by 0.6 cm wide. They turn purplish-black at maturity. It is edible. The nut is furrowed and the seed is green.
