Description

A tree. It grows 35 m tall. The bark is thick and reddish. The young leaves are reddish brown. The flowers are grouped along a stalk 6-8 cm long. The fruit is 0.8 cm long by 1 cm wide. It is green to reddish. There is one seed. The pulp is edible.

Edible Uses

The fruit pulp is edible and can be eaten raw.

Medicinal Uses

The plant (part unspecified) is used for treating snake bites.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant. It grows in rainforest and savanna.
