Description
A large evergreen tree. It grows 10 m high. The bark is greyish-brown. The leaves are glossy green. The leaves taper to the tip and base. The leaf stalk is 1 cm long. There are irregular teeth along the edge. The flowers are white or cream and in clusters at the ends of the branches. They are 1 cm long. The fruit are bright berries. The fruit is edible.
Edible Uses
A very popular ornamental tree. It needs a well-drained soil. Full sun is required for a significant display of orange fruit.
Traditional Uses
The fruit are eaten but slightly bitter.
