Description
A tropical parasitic herb in the Aristolochiaceae family that grows on Prosopis (bean family) plants in semiarid regions. It produces underground flowers and edible fruit.

The roots are sold as medicine. There are 3 Prosopanche species. Also put in the family Hydnoraceae.
