Description

An annual grass. It forms tufts. It grows 10-40 cm high. The leaf blades are 4-14 cm long by 5-14 mm wide. The flower panicle is oval and 6-20 cm long. It has fine regular spreading branches.

Edible Uses

The seeds are used as a cereal grain.

Distribution

It is a tropical plant. It grows in disturbed land between 100-2,200 m above sea level.
