Description
A grass. It is robust and strongly tillering. It keeps growing from year to year. It grows 2.5-5 m tall. The leaves are narrow and taper to the tip.
Edible Uses
The shoots are eaten.
Medicinal Uses
The leaves are used as a topical medicine to treat chest pains.
Distribution
A tropical plant. In Java it grows from the lowlands to 1,500 m above sea level.
