Description

A tree. The leaves are simple and 6-15 cm long. The upper surface is smooth but the underneath is sparsely hairy. The young growth of the tree has pale hairs. The fruit are 1 cm long and 1.3 cm across. They can occur either singly or in clusters. There are several seeds in the fruit and these are 3-3.5 mm long by 2-2.5 cm wide. The fruit are edible.

The fruit are edible.

Distribution

A tropical plant. It grows naturally in the rainforest. In tropical Queensland it grows from sea level to 1150 m altitude. Mt Cootha Botanical Gardens.
